3B Biomechanical Test Blocks (Item No. 1019883) are used to test implants and devices, and to train the evaluation of bone density. They simulate different combinations of bone density and cortical thickness for realistic orthopedic skills practice.
Bone Density: 10–30 PCF (Pounds per Cubic Foot). The solid, rigid polyurethane foam is available in four densities: 10, 15, 20, and 30 PCF. This block is the 30 PCF variant.
Cortical Thickness: 1–3 mm. The cortical shell is simulated by a dense plate (40 PCF) on top of each block, available in three thicknesses (1, 2, or 3 mm) for each foam density option. This block has the CP3 (3mm) cortical thickness.
