Why Choose the Shoulder Injection Trainer Ultrasound Guided, Light (ALT70202) for Your Simulation Lab in India?

The Shoulder Injection Trainer Ultrasound Guided, Light (Item No. ALT70202) by Adam, Rouilly / Limbs & Things, UK is a full-shoulder ultrasound-guided injection and aspiration training platform covering the four most commonly treated shoulder sites in a single, bespoke echolucent anatomical model. For rheumatology, orthopaedics, sports medicine, emergency medicine, physiotherapy, and musculoskeletal ultrasound training programmes, and for clinical skills labs and hospital in-service training in India where ultrasound-guided shoulder procedures are a core competency, this trainer provides the anatomical fidelity, injection confirmation feedback, and skill-level variability required to develop genuine procedural confidence — in a light skin tone variant.

The four trainable injection sites are the acromioclavicular joint, the glenohumeral joint, the biceps tendon sheath within the bicipital groove, and the subdeltoid/subacromial bursa. The echolucent material used throughout the shoulder module is a bespoke Limbs & Things formulation with tissue-comparable acoustic properties, giving clear visualisation of the underlying anatomical landmarks — including rotator cuff muscles, biceps sheath and tendon, deltoid, and the shoulder capsule with its ligamentous structures — on the trainee’s own ultrasound machine. Successful injection is confirmed in real time by visualising fluid entering the target site, or by aspirating fluid, replicating the endpoint feedback a clinician receives during actual procedures. Discrete skin and muscle layers produce a realistic needle passage feel throughout. The volume of fluid in the subdeltoid/subacromial bursa is adjustable from empty to fully distended, allowing the instructor to configure easy or more challenging scenarios progressively. The suprascapular nerve can be identified and injected under ultrasound, supporting nerve block training on the same platform.

Important: this trainer contains electronics — the shoulder joint must not be injected with liquids other than via its designed fill port, and the trainer must not be used near water. Use only the included 21G needles or near-new 21G needles. Remove batteries before extended storage. A linear ultrasound probe is required but not supplied.

The complete set includes: shoulder module with ultrasound capability light (ALT70213), shoulder torso light (ALT70215), needle set 3 × 21G green (ALT70108), synovial fluid 250 ml (ALT70022), carry case, elbow, and ultrasound gel.

Q: Does this trainer work with our own ultrasound machine?
A: Yes, provided it is a linear ultrasound probe. The echolucent material has been tested with popular ultrasound machines; image quality may vary across different systems. A linear probe is required but not supplied.

Q: How many injection sites does the trainer cover?
A: Four — the acromioclavicular joint, glenohumeral joint, biceps tendon sheath, and subdeltoid/subacromial bursa.

Q: How does the trainee confirm a successful injection?
A: By visualising fluid entering the target site under real-time ultrasound, or by aspirating fluid from the site — the same confirmation method used in clinical practice.

Q: Can the difficulty level be varied?
A: Yes. The fluid volume in the subdeltoid/subacromial bursa can be adjusted from empty to fully distended, allowing the instructor to configure procedures at a range of skill levels.

Q: Is suprascapular nerve block training possible on this simulator?
A: Yes. The suprascapular nerve can be visualised and injected under ultrasound guidance.

Q: Is the trainer latex-free?
A: Yes. All components are latex-free.
