Peter PICC Line™ allows the teaching, practice and assessment of placing PICC lines. Sterile technique can be taught as well as practiced. A great tool for teaching, training, competency testing and skills assessment.

Skills

• The only available teaching model which allows review of principles and tools necessary to validate the knowledge and skills needed for peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) insertion
• Enables practice of sterile technique in set-up and insertion of PICC line
• Movable chin, which when turned, simulates the occlusion of the jugular vein which then prevents the PICC from taking this path
• Proper placement can be confirmed by viewing the distal tip of the PICC in the viewable superior vena cava on the side of the model
• Palpable ribs, together with the landmarks on the chest, permit practice of measuring proper catheter length from insertion site to second or third intercostal space

• Replaceable translucent arm skin to allow visualisation of the underlying cephalic, basilic and median basilica veins
