Five-year warranty.
Why Choose the Life/form® Child Intraosseous Infusion / Femoral Access Leg for Your Paediatric Emergency or PALS Training Programme in India?
The Life/form® Child Intraosseous Infusion / Femoral Access Leg (Item No. LF03632) is a dual-procedure paediatric emergency vascular access trainer from Nasco Healthcare / Life/form®, USA — designed to give paediatric emergency medicine residents, PICU nursing staff, PALS instructors, paediatric surgery trainees, and emergency medicine providers in India their first structured, repeatable experience of two of the most critical paediatric emergency vascular access procedures before performing them on a real child patient.
Mounted on a stand for independent skills station use, the LF03632 is the only trainer in the SEM Injections and Punctures range that combines IO infusion training and femoral vascular access training in a single, child-scaled anatomical model — making it the most clinically complete paediatric vascular access trainer available for PALS skills stations, paediatric emergency simulation days, and PICU in-service training in India.
Procedure 1 — Intraosseous Infusion Training:
Intraosseous infusion is the first-line emergency vascular access route when IV access cannot be established rapidly in a critically ill or injured child. The LF03632 trains the complete IO procedure at the proximal tibial site — the standard paediatric IO access point — with full landmark fidelity and functional fluid aspiration:
- Palpable anatomical landmarks — patella, tibia, and tibial tuberosity are all palpable, enabling trainees to practise the correct landmark identification and needle insertion angle before and during the procedure
- Replaceable tibial bone — the IO insertion site component is replaceable, extending the training life of the simulator and allowing high-volume practice without degradation of needle-feel fidelity
- Replaceable skin — the overlying skin is independently replaceable
- Pressurised aspiration system — the simulator includes a pressurised fluid reservoir allowing realistic aspiration of fluid after needle placement, confirming correct IO positioning exactly as in clinical practice
Procedure 2 — Femoral Vascular Access Training:
Femoral venous and arterial access is a critical skill for paediatric emergency teams when peripheral and IO routes are unavailable. The LF03632 trains femoral access with full procedural realism:
- Palpable arterial pulse — the femoral arterial pulse is palpable at the correct anatomical location, enabling trainees to practise the feel-for-pulse landmark technique used in both venous and arterial access
- Realistic venous flashback — the pressurised venous system produces realistic blood flashback on successful venous cannulation, confirming correct vessel entry exactly as in clinical practice
- Replaceable injection pad — the femoral access site pad is independently replaceable for high-volume training
- Articulated leg — the leg joint is fully articulated, allowing the trainee to position the leg in the correct external rotation and abduction for femoral access — the positioning step that is always trained but rarely simulatable
Five-Year Warranty — The LF03632 carries a full five-year manufacturer warranty from Nasco Healthcare / Life/form® — the longest standard warranty in the SEM injection and vascular access simulator range.

Q: What two procedures does this trainer cover?
A: Intraosseous (IO) infusion at the proximal tibial site and femoral vascular access (venous and arterial). Both are trained on the same child-scaled leg model mounted on a stand for skills station use.
Q: Is this a child or adult model?
A: Child (paediatric). The model is scaled for a child patient — the appropriate size for training the IO and femoral access techniques used in paediatric emergency settings. For adult IO training, see the Life/form® Single Intraosseous Infusion Leg (W44771), also available from SEM Trainers.
Q: Can fluid be aspirated after IO needle placement to confirm correct positioning?
A: Yes. The simulator includes a pressurised fluid reservoir that allows realistic aspiration after needle placement — replicating the clinical confirmation step used in actual IO procedure to verify correct intraosseous position before infusion begins.
Q: Is the femoral pulse palpable on this trainer?
A: Yes. A palpable arterial pulse is present at the correct femoral anatomical location, allowing trainees to practise the pulse-guided landmark technique for femoral access needle placement.
Q: Which components are replaceable?
A: The tibial bone (IO insertion site), overlying skin, and femoral injection pad are all independently replaceable — contact SEM Trainers for replacement component pricing and availability.
Q: Is the fluid supply stand included?
A: No. The fluid supply stand is not included and must be ordered separately. Contact SEM Trainers to add it to your order.
Q: What warranty does this product carry?
A: A full five-year manufacturer warranty from Nasco Healthcare / Life/form® — the longest standard warranty in the SEM vascular access simulator range.
