CT Whole Body Phantom “PBU-60” (PH-2B) — Life-Size Radiography & CT Positioning Training
The CT Whole Body Phantom “PBU-60” (Item No. PH-2B, 50 kg, 165 cm height) by Kyoto Kagaku, Japan is a unique, life-size whole body phantom for CT that supports a wide range of educational applications, along with visual evaluation for determining optimal scanning conditions.
Realistic radiological properties. Radiation absorption and Hounsfield Unit numbers are approximate to a real human body, giving students and technologists genuinely representative imaging results rather than simplified approximations — important for training that needs to transfer directly to real clinical scanning.
Realistic articulation and modular design. Main joints have close-to-human articulation, supporting realistic patient positioning practice. The phantom can be disassembled into 10 individual parts, making it easier to store, transport, and selectively replace worn components without needing to handle or ship the full body.
Training applications: plain X-ray, CT, and basic patient positioning.
What’s included: whole body phantom, head supporter, flat head screwdriver, sample X-ray set, instruction manual.
Materials: urethane-based resin (soft tissue), epoxy resin (synthetic bone and skull). No metal parts or liquid structures.
Extensive replacement parts available for the head, right and left hands, right and left upper arms, torso, right and left thighs, and right and left feet — letting institutions replace individual body regions as they wear rather than the whole phantom.
Optional parts: storage cases (2-box set), and body plates for BMI 32 or BMI 40 simulation — letting you expand the phantom for larger-patient scanning training as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can this phantom simulate larger patients for radiation dose training?
A: Yes — optional body plates are available to simulate BMI 32 or BMI 40 patients, letting you train on patient-size variation.
Q: Can individual body parts be replaced if damaged?
A: Yes — replacement parts are available for the head, hands, upper arms, torso, thighs, and feet, so worn components can be replaced individually.
Q: How is the phantom stored and transported?
A: It disassembles into 10 individual parts, and optional 2-box storage cases are available for easier handling and transport.
