The foot uses lifelike simulated tissue pads to demonstrate Stages 1+ through 4+, as well as a non-pitting stage of edema known as brawny edema. Pressing on the surface of the skin may leave an indentation that does not immediately rebound when pressure is released, or it may not indent under pressure, depending on which tissue pad is placed in the foot. A Deep Tissue Injury is also present on the heal. Includes a foot that easily attaches to any GERi™ or KERi™ Patient Care Manikin, five interchangeable pads representing one non-pitting stage and four pitting stages of edema, and an instruction key card.

The Optional Edema Foot (Item No. LF04084U) by Nasco Healthcare, USA adds realism to patient assessment training by simulating swelling of the foot, letting trainees practice edema assessment by pressing on the surface of the skin.
Five interchangeable pads for a full range of edema presentations. The foot uses lifelike simulated tissue pads to demonstrate pitting edema Stages 1+ through 4+, plus a non-pitting stage known as brawny edema. Depending on which pad is placed in the foot, pressing on the skin may leave an indentation that doesn’t immediately rebound when pressure is released, or it may not indent at all under pressure — matching how each stage presents clinically.
A Deep Tissue Injury is also present on the heel, adding another realistic assessment point beyond edema alone.
