For nursing institutes and clinical skills labs in India that already own a Chester Chest™ and want to add peripheral port (IVAD) palpation and access training without purchasing the full Chester Chest™ with Peripheral Port Access Arm (SB18636), this arm is the cost-effective upgrade path. Important: the peripheral port itself (SB45081U) is not included and must be purchased separately.

The improved arm provides a greater degree of rotation and extension than previous arm versions, enabling easier positioning for both PICC access and port access training. Proximal to the PICC exit point, a recessed area accommodates the placement and suturing of an optional peripheral port — when the port (sold separately as SB45081U) is placed in the recessed area, it floats on the underlying tissue-like material. A removable tissue-simulating flap covers the recessed area, providing a realistic feel when palpating and accessing the port — training the clinical skill of locating an implanted port by palpation through tissue, then accessing it correctly with a non-coring needle. The arm retains all standard Chester Chest™ features: dual lumen 5Fr PICC exiting the slightly raised basilic vein from the inner bicep (current preferred placement), pre-positioned 20g IV catheter in the forearm, and blood bag reservoirs enabling actual blood withdrawal and fluid infusion practice.
