The Blood Pressure Simulator with iPod® Technology (Item No. 101-775) is a sophisticated and comprehensive standalone blood pressure training unit manufactured by Nasco Healthcare, USA, weighing 17 lbs (approximately 7.7 kg) and measuring 35″ x 14″ x 9″. This advanced trainer combines traditional sphygmomanometer skills with modern iPod® technology, making it one of the most feature-rich blood pressure training simulators available for nursing and clinical skills education.

Key features include sphygmomanometer cuff placement and positioning practice, radial pulse palpation training, variable systolic and diastolic pressures adjustable from 0–300 mmHg in 2 mmHg increments, variable amplitude of Korotkoff sounds heard at the antecubital site, an auscultatory gap setting for advanced BP assessment training, a sound jack for group listening, and adjustable heart rate settings. The unit is battery operated with the added convenience of a 110V AC plug-in option to conserve batteries during extended training sessions. The package includes the simulator, an iPod®, AC adapter and jack, BP cuff, and a carry bag. A one-year warranty is included.

Q1. What is the Blood Pressure Simulator with iPod® Technology used for?
It is used for comprehensive blood pressure measurement training, teaching nursing and healthcare students proper cuff placement, radial pulse palpation, Korotkoff sound identification, auscultatory gap recognition, and correct BP reading techniques using a realistic standalone simulator.

Q2. What pressure range does this simulator support?
The simulator supports variable systolic and diastolic pressure settings from 0–300 mmHg, adjustable in 2 mmHg increments — allowing instructors to set precise and clinically relevant blood pressure scenarios for training.

Q3. What is the auscultatory gap and why is it important?
The auscultatory gap is a temporary disappearance of Korotkoff sounds during blood pressure measurement, which can lead to an incorrectly low systolic or high diastolic reading if not recognized. This simulator’s auscultatory gap setting trains students to identify and correctly manage this phenomenon.

Q4. What is the sound jack for group listening used for?
The sound jack allows multiple students or an instructor to simultaneously listen to the Korotkoff sounds during training, making it ideal for classroom demonstrations and group learning sessions.

Q5. Is this unit battery operated or does it require mains power?
The simulator is primarily battery operated for portability, but can also be plugged into a 110V AC outlet to conserve batteries during extended training sessions. Please note: a locally purchased transformer is required for use in India (230V countries).

Q6. What is included in the package?
The package includes the Blood Pressure Simulator, iPod®, AC adapter and jack, BP cuff, and a carry bag for convenient transport and storage.

Q7. What warranty is provided?
A one-year warranty is included with the Blood Pressure Simulator with iPod® Technology.

Q8. Who is this simulator ideal for?
It is ideal for nursing institutes, medical colleges, clinical skills labs, allied health training centers, and any healthcare training facility focused on teaching accurate blood pressure measurement techniques.

Q9. Where can I purchase this in India?
You can enquire and order through SEM Trainers at +91-88495 63724 or +91-98791 03905, or visit semtrainers.com.
