CT Abdomen Phantom (PH-5) — CT & Multi-Energy CT Abdominal Imaging Training

The CT Abdomen Phantom (Item No. PH-5, 12 kg) by Kyoto Kagaku, Japan facilitates study of image fusion between CT and ultrasound in combination with the US-1 ECHOZY phantom, giving institutions a way to train cross-modality image correlation — an increasingly important skill as multi-modal imaging becomes standard practice.

Two variants for different training needs. The CT type has no contrast enhancement, suited to fundamental CT training. The newer MECT type includes vessels with 13mgI/ml iodine and liver material compatible with multi-energy CT — supporting more advanced training on contrast-enhanced and multi-energy imaging technique. Iodine concentration can be custom-ordered to match your institution’s specific training requirements.

Comprehensive abdominal anatomy. The phantom includes lungs and heart (structural only, no internal detail), liver, portal vein, gallbladder, hepatic vein, hepatic artery, kidneys, pancreas, spleen, aorta, IVC, spinal column, and ribs — giving students a realistic, full abdominal anatomical picture for CT interpretation training. Vessels and organs with contrast agent can be included as a special order for institutions wanting a more advanced contrast-enhanced training scenario.

Training applications: CT and multi-energy CT.

What’s included: abdomen phantom, sample X-ray data (DVD), storage case, instruction manual.

Materials: urethane-based resin (soft tissue), epoxy resin (synthetic bone).

Q: What’s the difference between the CT and MECT variants?
A: The CT type has no contrast enhancement, suited to basic CT training. The MECT type includes iodine-enhanced vessels and multi-energy CT-compatible liver material, supporting advanced contrast and multi-energy training.

Q: Can this phantom be used to study CT-ultrasound image fusion?
A: Yes — it’s specifically designed to facilitate this study in combination with the US-1 ECHOZY ultrasound phantom.

Q: Can iodine concentration be customized?
A: Yes — iodine concentration on the MECT variant can be custom-ordered to match your training requirements.
