The Ultrasound Examination Training Phantom “ECHOZY” (Item No. US-1, 12 kg) by Kyoto Kagaku, Japan is a high-fidelity abdominal ultrasound phantom without pathologies, built to train the fundamentals of abdominal sonography on detailed hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and other abdominal anatomy — compatible with your institution’s own clinical ultrasound devices.
Anatomically detailed for real diagnostic training, not simplified anatomy. The phantom includes the liver (with segmental anatomy, portal and hepatic venous systems, ligamentum teres and ligamentum venosum), biliary tract (gallbladder, cystic duct, intrahepatic and extrahepatic bile ducts), pancreas with pancreatic duct, spleen, kidneys, and detailed vascular structures including the aorta, vena cava, celiac artery and its branches, portal vein and branches, superior mesenteric vessels, and renal vessels.
A specific, testable skill: Couinaud’s segment localization. All eight of the liver’s Couinaud’s hepatic segments can be localized on this phantom — an important diagnostic skill for hepatobiliary and surgical planning that’s difficult to teach without a phantom this anatomically precise.
Training applications: basics of abdominal sonography, cross-sectional and sonographic anatomy, sonographic demonstration of each individual organ, and localization of hepatic Couinaud’s segments.
